The ill effects of Lyme Diseases

In the World there are varieties of living creatures and they differ in size, physical structures, colors and natures also. Some of them are even very poisonous to certain species of animal and specially threat to human body. Some micro size living being commonly known as bacteria and virus is root of most of the diseases that happen to man and among them Lyme disease is one of the much known one among physicians, bacteriologist and micro researchers.

Lyme Disease spreads from bacteria, which belongs to genus borrelia group. The symptoms associated with the disease are skin rash, swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache and fatigue. Later the disease creates arthritis in body if continued untreated for long. The disease is mainly transmitted by the bite of nymphet and adult ticks. These ticks are carried by white feted ground rat, deer etc. so, the chance of growth of this diseases is near the suburban rural areas which are formed near forest. This disease was invented few years ago around 1975 in Lyme and its surrounded towns, so it got the name Lyme disease.

As the rash is not felt by many of the people the Lyme Disease is mostly not treated and later it affects joints, central nervous system. There are neurological symptoms like facial muscle temporary paralysis, numbness, pain or weakness in limbs and further poor co-ordination between muscles, difficulty with concentration and even memory loss to extreme extent. In very few cases this attacks the heart of patient and causes irregular and slow heartbeat, dizziness and eye inflammation also. The major sufferers are found in England, Walsh, Mid Atlantic countries and USA.

Proper antibiotics can cure the Lyme disease properly. Antibiotics commonly available for oral treatment include doxycycline, amoxicillin, or cefuroxime axetil. Patients with certain neurological or cardiac forms of illness may require intravenous treatment with drugs such as ceftriaxone or penicillin. As ticks are main carrier of the diseases hence some ways to prevent the bite of ticks are: wearing full sleeve shirt, use insect repellent and check pets and children of ticks periodically.
